This has been a long term ham project which I experimented for several years during my free time. The main motivation was that this wideband antenna is the natural companion of the new generation of wideband DDC SDR receivers. The other question which I asked myself is what limits the sensitivity of these small active antennas. On certain level of understanding I realized that an amplifier kit can be made which will permit many amateurs to use these wonderful antennas in the limited and noisy living places of the modern urban civilization.
